Pittsburgh is a great city for youth sports. Between soccer leagues, basketball programs, swim teams, and baseball clubs, families across Western Pennsylvania have plenty of options. But if you are looking for a program that builds athletic skill, football IQ, teamwork, and genuine confidence, flag football deserves a close look.

Pittsburgh National League has been serving Pittsburgh and Western PA families since 2004, and in 2024 we were named NFL FLAG League of the Year.

What Makes Flag Football Different From Other Youth Sports

Flag football gives every player on the field a meaningful role on every single play. Unlike youth sports where one or two kids dominate touches, 5v5 flag football requires every player to be engaged on both offense and defense. There is no sitting on the bench waiting for a rotation.

It is also non-contact, which makes it accessible to children and parents who want competitive athletics without the physical risk of tackle football. Kids develop speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, and football fundamentals in a safe environment.

Pittsburgh National League Programs and Divisions

We offer three divisions to serve the full range of ages in Pittsburgh. Rookie League is for children ages 4 through 6. The Coed Division runs ages 7 through 14. Our All-Girls Division is open to girls ages 7 through high school. Every registered player gets placed on a team at our annual draft. No tryouts. No cuts.

Where We Play in Pittsburgh and Western PA

Our flagship location is Linton Middle School at 250 Aster Street in Penn Hills, PA 15235. We also operate at Boyce Park Soccer Fields in Plum, serving families from Plum, Murrysville, and Monroeville. If you are in Penn Hills, Monroeville, Squirrel Hill, Forest Hills, Churchill, or anywhere in the eastern Pittsburgh suburbs, you are close to a Pittsburgh NFL League location.

More Than Athletics: What PNL Builds in Young People

After 20-plus years in Pittsburgh, we have watched thousands of children come through this league. The ones who stay longest are the ones who find community here, whose parents become coaches, and who come back as coaches themselves after they age out of playing.

Spring 2026 Registration Is Open

Training Camp starts April 4th. The PNL Live Draft is April 17th. Games begin April 18th. The Championship is June 6th. Register now at pittsburghnflleague.com to secure your child's spot. Questions? Email info@pittsburghnflleague.com or call 412-513-5463.
