If you are a Penn Hills family looking for a youth sports program that is structured, competitive, and built to develop real football skills, Pittsburgh NFL League has been right here in your backyard since 2004. Our flagship location at Linton Middle School, 250 Aster Street, Pittsburgh PA 15235, is home to Saturday games, training camp, playoffs, and our season championship. Penn Hills is where Pittsburgh NFL League was built, and it remains the heart of everything we do.
Why Penn Hills Families Choose Pittsburgh NFL League
Penn Hills has a strong football culture, and Pittsburgh NFL League fits right into it. We are not a recreation league where kids stand around waiting for the ball. Every player on the field is involved on every play. Our 5v5 format means your child is running routes, defending, snapping, and making decisions from the very first game. The development is real, and the competition is serious.
Pittsburgh NFL League is the 2024 NFL FLAG League of the Year, a national award given by RCX Sports and NFL FLAG to the league that best represents excellence in programming, community impact, and player development. That recognition means something. It means the standard we hold ourselves to here in Penn Hills is recognized on a national level.
Divisions at the Penn Hills Location
We offer three division tracks at Linton Middle School. Rookie League is for ages 4 to 6 and focuses on fundamentals, fun, and first experiences on a football field. Coed Divisions serve players ages 7 through 14 and offer a structured, competitive environment with drafted teams, a full regular season, and playoffs. All-Girls Divisions run from ages 7 through high school and represent one of the fastest-growing parts of our league.
Player divisions are determined by your child's age as of August 1st. So for the 2026 Spring Season, division placement is based on how old your child is as of August 1, 2025. If you are not sure which division your child belongs in, reach out and we will figure it out with you.
Spring 2026 Schedule at Penn Hills
Training camp runs in April with four sessions at Linton Middle School. Saturday sessions on April 4th and April 11th cover ages 4 through 10 from 10AM to 12PM, and ages 11 through 17 from 12PM to 2PM. Weekday sessions add more opportunities throughout the week. Training camp is not mandatory, but we strongly encourage attendance. The more reps your child gets before the season, the better prepared they will be.
The PNL Live Draft is Friday, April 17th at Linton Middle School. This is one of the most exciting nights of our season. Every registered player gets assigned to a team by coaches in a live draft format, similar to how the NFL Draft works. If you have never seen it, you need to come out for it. The energy in the room is something else.
First games at Penn Hills kick off Saturday, April 18th. The season runs through a full regular season schedule, then into playoffs and the championship on Saturday, June 6th. The Pittsburgh Steelers Regional Tournament is also available on April 25th for teams that want an extra competitive opportunity.
What to Bring on Day One
Pittsburgh NFL League provides jerseys and flags. Players need cleats, athletic shorts or pants, and a mouthpiece. Mouthpieces are required for all players except those in Rookie League. Bring water and come ready to work. Our coaches set their own weekly practice schedules after the draft, so your child will have regular team practice in addition to game days.
Financial Assistance Is Available
Cost should never be the reason a Penn Hills kid sits out. We have two pathways to help. First, families can apply for the NFL FLAG Grant at www.pittsburghnflleague.com/nflflagfunds. If not approved for the grant, PNL has an internal financial assistance program as well. Reach out directly and we will make sure your child gets on the field.
