The Pittsburgh National League is headed to the national stage.
On October 26, 2025, our Boyce Park Jets 8U team traveled to Clifton, New Jersey to compete in the New York Jets NFL FLAG Regional Tournament Presented by Toyota and they didn’t just compete.
They dominated.
After battling through pool play and advancing into a single-elimination playoff bracket, the Boyce Park Jets 8U were officially crowned Jets NFL FLAG Regional Champions, earning their spot at the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships.
And that wasn’t all.
As part of their championship moment, the team was awarded a $10,000 Jets Foundation prize, presented on the field following their victory.
For an 8U team from Western Pennsylvania, that moment meant everything.

What Is the Jets NFL FLAG Regional?
The New York Jets NFL FLAG Regional is an official qualifying tournament within the NFL FLAG Championship Series. Each year, NFL FLAG works alongside all 32 NFL franchises to host sanctioned regional events across the country. These tournaments serve as the primary pathway to the NFL FLAG Championships, which is the highest competitive stage in youth flag football.
Unlike standard weekend tournaments, NFL FLAG Regionals are structured, qualification-based events. Teams cannot simply register and show up. In order to participate, every athlete must be rostered in an officially sanctioned NFL FLAG league within a 12-month period. This ensures that all teams competing are part of the NFL FLAG ecosystem and meet league standards for eligibility and age verification.
Roster restrictions are strictly enforced. Age divisions are based on specific birth year cutoffs, and all players must meet documentation requirements prior to competition. Teams are limited to approved roster sizes (10), and players cannot compete outside of their designated age bracket. This structure protects competitive integrity and ensures fairness across divisions.
In 2025, the Jets Regional brought together elite teams from across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Multiple age divisions competed under NFL FLAG rules and oversight, with the understanding that only one champion per division would advance.
These tournaments are designed to identify the best of the best.
Winning a Regional does not just mean collecting a trophy. It means navigating verified eligibility standards, competing against top-level teams, and earning the right to represent your Region, and possibly your favorite NFL team at the NFL FLAG Championships.
And in the 8U division, this year was Boyce Park.
From Canton to Indianapolis: A New National Stage
For the past two years, the NFL FLAG Championships were held in Canton, Ohio at the Hall of Fame Village.
However, the NFL recently announced that the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships will be held in Westfield, Indiana at the Grand Park Sports Campus from July 23–26, 2026.
Grand Park is one of the premier youth sports complexes in the country, featuring more than 30 multi-purpose fields and hosting national-level events year-round.
This means our 8U champions won’t just be traveling to a tournament.
They’ll be competing at the largest youth flag football event in the world.
